Line Cut Protection – Cellular Communications Backup

Most alarm systems use standard phone lines to communicate with the monitoring station. Phone lines are generally very reliable, however it should be understood that if the line is not functioning for any reason, signals cannot be sent to the monitoring station. Phone lines can be interrupted due to natural disasters such as fires, storms or earthquakes or due to failure of the telephone company’s lines or equipment. Occasionally phone lines are cut by intruders before they break in.

If the possibility of line failure is of concern to you we can provide a cellular communicator that enables your alarm system to communicate with us using your existing phone line and the cellular network. If either service is interrupted the system can still report all alarm conditions to the monitoring station over the cellular network. The cost to supply and install a cellular alarm communicator is approximately $300. There is also a cellular service fee of $14.95 per month.
