Other
Types of Monitoring
(Smoke
and Heat Sensors, Medic Alert, Police Assistance, High and
Low Temperature, Flood, AC Failure, Equipment Failure, etc.)
Quality
Alarms can monitor anything that is capable of providing an
output. Here are some examples;
Smoke
and Heat Detectors - Homes, and many small commercial
buildings, do not have fire alarm systems but they can still
be protected from fire by installing smoke or heat detectors.
The standard ionization smoke detectors found in most homes
are not designed to be monitored. They do not have a built-in
relay output for connection to an alarm panel, they are designed
to run on AC power and therefore have no battery backup, and
they are very cheaply made resulting in an unacceptably high
rate of false alarms. Quality Alarms can install high quality
"photo-electric" smoke detectors with battery backup
for use with your alarm system. Heat detectors, though less
sensitive than smoke detectors, can be installed in areas
such as kitchens, attics, and workshops where dust or steam
can falsely trigger a smoke detector.
Medic
Alert - Quality alarms provides wireless medic alert pendants
or wristbands for clients who may require urgent medical attention
and may not be able to reach a phone to call 911. These can
be added to an intrusion alarm system or installed as a stand
alone medic alert system.
Police
Assistance Alarms - Holdup buttons for businesses and
panic alarms for residences are available as hardwired or
wireless devices. Hardwired buttons are usually mounted to
walls or installed under counters while wireless devices are
available in pendant, wristband or belt clip forms.
High
and Low Temperature Sensors - There are many applications
for high and low temperature monitoring including server rooms,
storage facilities, fridges and freezers.
Flood
(water level) Sensors - Burst water lines, plugged drains,
faulty air conditioners and leaky basements can cause massive
damage in homes and businesses. Water sensors can be added
to your alarm system to provide early warning when disaster
strikes. Float switches can also be installed in sump pumps
and storage containers such as fuel tanks.
Equipment
Failure - If you have critical equipment that must be
kept running you may want to be notified as soon as possible
if the equipment loses power or fails. We can monitor power
sources or any equipment that can produce a trouble or failure
output. Examples include backup power generators and environmental
controls.
